Programming freaks need no introduction to Jon Bentley (I noticed there is another popular figure by the same name. Here, I mean the comp. science guy). Reading his programming pearls was one of the most delightful things during my B.Tech. Unlike other algorithms books he uses real code extensively to illustrate how algorithm development evolves. I always wondered what his lectures would be like. Thanks to Google’s TechTalks.. I had the luck of listening to him speak on QuickSort here, its analysis by deleting its code (the best part) and an industrial strength implementation. Listening to one of the great researchers in itself is quite inspiring. It got even better as quick sort and the Lomuto partitioning algorithm happen to be two of my favorite algorithms. For all his fans n other enthusiasts : he uses some forbidden english quite liberally. It fun all the way. Enjoi.
