Sport rocks again…

so the astounding victory of Iraq brings me back to my blog. I have always believed that sport (when taken in its truest spirit.. of course) can bring down the many walls that we have erected among ourselves ( this being the best expression of those feelings ). And yet again the remarkable victory of Iraqi football squad lifts the spirits of a battered nation. It is sure the best catalyst to the recovery process. In an era of rampant fundamentalism that shakes our very perception of humaneness instances such as this provide the much needed comfort. That such an act came from people who (seemingly) were faced with the entire world against them is a tribute to the amazing powers of human will and determination. I wish this inspires Iraqis to put the dark days behind them and move forward. Blessed are the initiators of this renaissance.
