More on Pictures…

No I didnt forget that this place exists, but was too busy with other stuff. However I kept jotting down what all to ramble about. So here is the first in the list : Soon after ICVGIP the band of researchers regrouped at MSR India’s Scienta Building for another colloquium. AZ again mesmerized with his Buffy show. For those who do not car to view research papers the system essentially takes a video along with its script and subtitles and figures out who’s who in every frame!!. Absolutely no user involvement. I wont go in to the technical details or challenges but it suffices to say that the paper was chosen as the best industrial paper at BMVC. Management of rich non-text content is now becoming the hottest area. For some late but interesting entrants in this domain, check out : Polar Rose and My Heritage. Both rely on the new user-generated-content funda but offer a lot more. Folks back at our own CVIT seem to be getting in to this sorta things of late. On other fronts, there is lot of news for UG2k1 folks. About four wedlocks have been confirmed (long time buddy, Nirupam being one of the soon-to-be-marrieds). Ravishankar, the dark horse, surprised us by making to Lodon School of Economics. An interest statistic : In the last four months[Ever since I moved to Bangalore] I have seen more skirts than 10 times what I had seen in all my life prior to that. Got to respect Blore in this aspect!!
