‘Holi’days..

May 5, 2006

This summer vacation seems more dull than any other one.. The 2k1ites are all gone long, now even the ug4 dudes are slowly disappearing while MS/R dudes are all busy with their own work, the corporate world guys rarely appear and when they do they are too busy collecting movies and 'stuff'… maen how come these are called 'holi'days when they are so colorless!!. Just to procrastinate my work and to kill the time left-over after a 10hr sleep I started reading the good old 'How to solve it.. by comp.'.. it somehow survived five years .. everytime I read the first chaper, yawn and push it under the pillow!!.. too boring.. then suddenly I remembered that the blogger [albeit a miserable one] in me has long been dead… What do I blog.. think, think.. an old discussion with Vakibs flashed in my mind.. as animated and as zen-like as ever he sermonized 'you dont blog to make sense rey.. its like s***ting.. you just feel the pressure, you want to take it off, you want shout all these things to someone.. then you blog'.. 'ooooooooh'.. so blogging is this? and I go crazy and waste my precious time reading ramblings of some cynical bitch/SOB whom I never met.. maen somone gotta moderate this.. but then this freedom of expression thing comes in.. now another SE sermon from sem-6 : 'when rape is inevitable try to enjoy.. lie back and close your eyes.. ecstacy'.. damn.. so here I am adding to the ever expanding trash.. btw did something useful today.. picked up a book 'R-Tree : Theory and Applications' [ISBN 1852339772].. very good one for those who want to work on CG, spatial DBs etc : how spatial data is different, why old [read conventional] datastructures like B-Trees dont suit these, range-queries, MBRs etc… the best thing is that the book is really up to date reflecting the most recent trends in R-Tree variations… Good to see better books coming to Library [although I am shocked to 'Sitara' there :) ]
