Of dwelling in the dear OBH..

13th of April 6.45 a.m : 13th being notorious, I opened the door of my room [#375 OBH] with a sense of trepidation after being awakened by the sweeper’s call… before the usual cool morning breeze could greet me I see two big rectangles on the ground below and some 20 chairs placed opposite a big hole.. click.. estate officer’s mail flashes in my mind.. So this is the place. I felt sad about it.. well, the rising needs of this institute demand the best use of the limited space here but it really pains to see the beauty and the graceful structure of OBH being disturbed. I almost fell in love with my room #375.. It gave a nice view of the stadium and the lawn below, from there I watched countless ceremonies in the Balayogi stadium and small 8 over cricket matches in the lawn and ocassionally a small family of wild pigs out for a stroll.. . 8 months from now much of the beauty will be gone.. the stadium and the greenery will be occluded, an 8 feet path will bisect the lawn [cricket should not be a problem the 'pitch' neway is not going to be bisected ].. but still when I first came here.. I was amazed that a hostel could be designed so well.. [and I was the first dweller of room #375].. dunno how other ppl of OBH feel but I frankly dislike this idea.
